Passive Subwoofers are designed to be used with Passive Speakers, as a Passive Subwoofer handles all the low frequencies of music and plays those through the speaker. A Passive Speaker requires an Amplifier to handle the low-end sound. With A Passive Speaker and a Passive Subwoofer combined together an overall balanced sound is created.
